What is the Party Wall ect. Act 1996?
The Act sets out the law relating to certain types of work which requires that before you start you serve notice to your neighbours.
Work requiring notice might include:-
– A new building at the boundary
– Work to a wall between you and your neighbour including a chimney
– An excavation within 3 metres or your neighbour
